Presentation Guidelines

UPDATE: We have received several inquiries about the poster-submission widget -- whether submissions have succeeded. In at least some cases it appears they have not. We are testing the system.

We ask for those who have submitted already, and those who will submit, their one-page abstracts: please try online but also now please email a backup copy directly to: silap2018@physics.utoronto.ca

All abstracts are reviewed by the workshop Scientific Committee; accepted papers can be presented at the meeting.

We ask that you submit your abstract using this standard template, which will simplify preparation of the conference program:

Link: SILAP2018_word_template.doc (Microsoft Word .doc) (LibreOffice is capable of editing this document and saving in .doc format)

Submission of abstracts is handled through a surveygizmo site: Abstract Submission. Following recent concerns about this surveygizmo, please also email a backup copy directly to: silap2018@physics.utoronto.ca

We encourage you to name your file containing your abstract helpfully, by combining the name of the contributing author and silap2018 (e.g., "Strickland-silap2018.doc").

Contributed abstracts are due by Thursday, November 15th, 2018 at midnight Toronto time (EST). UPDATE: we have left open the abstract submission link above in order to accept late submissions as long as possible.

Reminder:

Workshop presentations will consist of invited talks (20 min + 10 min questions), contributed talks (15 min + 5 min questions) and poster presentations. Oral presentations are at the Fields Institute building, where a digital projector will be used for talks.

Poster boards about 3' x 6', landscape orientation, supporting Euro format A0 (84x118 cm), will be set up for the afternoon poster session. The corresponding author will get further instructions about mounting of posters, when the room will be available for set-up, and which board is assigned.

All contributed and invited speakers are strongly encouraged to download their presentations (pdf or ppt) on the conference computer before their session. Further instructions will be made available.
